Candidates who wish to take admissions to the MBBS program offered by Vardhman Mahavir Medical College in Safdurjung need to sit for the common admission test or CET. The Vardhman Mahavir Medical College is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi. It was established in the year 2001. The total number of seats offered by the college for students who wish to apply to the MBBS programs is 100.

Eligibility for CET



Candidates who wish to sit for the common admission test need to have passed their Class 12th board examinations of the 10+2 pattern, with an aggregate of 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidate should also have had English as an subject in his or her syllabus. The university allows Sc or ST candidates with an aggregate of 40% marks to sit for the Common Entrance Test (CET).


Procedure of Application



Candidates who wish to sit for CET can obtain the application forms from a selected number of branches of Punjab and Sind bank.
Candidates can also request for the application forms directly from the university through speed post or registered post. The request for the application forms have to be sent first to the following address:

Along with your request, candidates have to send a demand draft of Rs 800 drawn in favor of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The test centers are announced by the university before the examinations. CET is usually conducted in almost all major cities of the country.


Important Dates



The CET is conducted over 2 stages. Candidates who pass the first stage are qualified for the 2nd stage test. The Stage I of CET is to be held on June 8, 2008 and the Stage II is to held on 28th June, 2008. Both the tests are held for a duration of 3 hours from 2 pm to 5 pm.


Exam Centers



The proposed exam centers for the Stage I of CET is Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Jallandhar, Kolkata, Luck now, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Noida. The Stage II of CET will be held in Delhi.
